Reflection and Action in times of Crisis and Uncertainties - Imam Afroz Ali (Al-Ghazzali Centre for Islamic Sciences & Human Development), Shaykh Ibrahim al Ansari (Ansari Sufi Order), Margareta Brosnan (Caritas Australia) and Ven Tejadhammo (Association of Engaged Buddhists)

In the face of recurring worldcrisis and other global issues, we are confronted with endless challenges to overcoming the problems. These challenges alone motivate us to take action to create a better world. However, we will burn out without spiritual strengths. With compassion and understanding, we can rely on spirituality and faith to fuel our energy to do the right thing at the right time, and also to know when to stop. This requires deep thought in to the priorities in life so that the action we take is always on the basis of love and understanding, which benefit both ourselves and others.

Does Faith Bring You Into or out of this world? - Rev Dr David Millikan (Uniting Church), Donna Jacobs Sife (Jewish Voices for Peace and Justice), Ven Sujato (Santi Buddhist Forest Monastery)

Often misunderstood, faith can seem like a solution to lifes problems and is believed to provide answers to endless questions about the life beyond this world. Having faith gives us the strength to look inward and understand our true nature, or within theistic religions, to understand a deeper relationship with God. Faith also encourages us to look at the existing mess that needs cleaning up. Our motivation to be active and make a change will be strengthened by the power of faith. The perplexing questions regarding faith are "Which one is more important, personal spiritual growth and inner change or activism for a better world?
