Baha'i Perspective
The Baha'i Scriptures call on Baha'is to "Consort
with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness
and fellowship".
Accordingly, the Baha'i community is a strong supporter and participant
in interfaith dialogue and interfaith projects in Australia.
Baha'is feel a sense of harmony with other religious communities
because we believe all the great religions originate from the same
Source (God) and are essentially one.
Baha'is believe that all the world's great religions are divinely
inspired and reflect God's Will and Purpose for humanity. Their
founders are revered equally as messengers of God, and their scriptures
are read during public services at Sydney's Baha'i House of Worship
in Mona Vale.
Religious prejudice is one of the last great barriers dividing humanity
against itself. We believe that religious leaders have an obligation
to work to overcome prejudice and recognise that spiritual life
constitutes one unbounded reality, equally accessible to everyone.
The struggle of diverse religions to draw closer together is part
of the growing awareness of the oneness of humanity.
